Hey Leanne,
Your paper is good; I was really surprised that you did it so well, because in class you appeared to not know what you wanted to do. Good job. I like how you correlated this school house with Lincoln, who is one of my favorite people in history! Your introduction was really catching! It would be good to have a visual of the one-room school house. However, great descriptions! Keep up the good work.

Leanne,
The basic research and writing is very good but you need to go into deeper detail. The length is a bit on the short side and you seem to be lacking enough primary sources. The basic information you have is VERY interesting ... but can you draw some additional conclusions? Are there more sources you can discuss? How did the efficacy of education in one room school houses compare to a more formalized curriculum? Do you know how many went on to higher education? When did Universities begin appearing in the West? Again, what you have is very well written but it is a bit shallow.
Keep up the good work!
~Sarah
